Our Philosophy
We believe both tarot reading and astrological exploration represent systems of divination that offer great potential for personal enrichment. Both of these systems naturally invoke the divine: “As above, so below.” With this in mind, we believe there is much to be gained by connecting with the divine using the tools afforded to us here on this earth.
While there is tremendous wisdom to be imparted to us by forces greater than ourselves, each of us holds our own reservoir of knowledge. Many of the questions we ask ourselves have answers we already know but may not be consciously aware of. It is another of our goals, then, to bring to the surface what lies in the waters of the subconscious mind. With a realization of the wisdom we already have, personal empowerment blooms and flourishes.
We do not believe in the use of divinatory tools as a substitute for healthy, day-to-day decision-making. After all, with personal empowerment as one of our goals for the community, we encourage clear-minded, confident living. Learning and growth, however, are lifelong processes. We aim to help others facilitate that ongoing growth so that they may reach their goals with enthusiasm and joy.
Meet the Reader
Keiraj M. Gillis is a tarotist and astrologer who has been both a student and practitioner of divinatory arts for over a decade. He is the yellow-adorned, soon-to-be doctor of education whose vision for a culture of personal growth drives The Doctor in Yellow. As a learning-focused professional, Keiraj maintains the goal of promoting community empowerment while providing opportunities to both share and receive knowledge. He views the spiritual community as a family of enlightenment seekers who he can grow and coalesce with as we each thrive in our personal journeys.
Keiraj views The Doctor in Yellow as an opportunity to lend his voice to the collective dialogue of spiritual wisdom found in the field of divinatory arts. He believes every dedicated practitioner in the field—from seasoned readers to those whose journey is just beginning—have wisdom to share. Inviting the collective formation of knowledge and remaining transparent in knowledge-sharing are values he aims to continually uphold.

The readings delivered by The Doctor in Yellow give clients the opportunity to choose what tarot deck their reading is performed with. Take a look at the decks below to see what options we currently provide. (Note: There is no change in a reading’s price based on a client’s deck selection. We offer these options simply as a way to help clients feel more comfortable with the visual aspect of their reading. The creators and distributors of these decks are not affiliated with The Doctor in Yellow.)
The Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot (2003) is a vibrant re-coloration of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) deck completed by Virginijus Poshkus. This deck is a good option for clients who recognize and prefer the well-known traditional imagery of the RWS.
The Yellow House Tarot (2025) is a lovely first-person-perspective deck utilizing the soft and gentle watercolor paintings of creator Heidi Dawn Nickerson. This deck is a good option for clients who prefer warm imagery that omits representations of people.
The Curious Travels Tarot Deck (2024) is a fanciful deck by Amelia Rozear that integrates colorful depictions of both animals and humans. This deck is a good option for clients who enjoy whimsical artwork as well as more diverse racial representation.
The Golden Tarot (2003) by Kat Black is a beloved deck in the tarot community whose collage artwork is sourced from classic Renaissance-era paintings. This deck is a good option for clients who connect with Renaissance art and RWS-inspired imagery.
The Cosmic Wisdom Tarot (2024) is a wonderfully imaginative deck by Ethony that explores a blend of the modern and the ethereal. This deck is a good option for clients who enjoy more modern art styles as well as diverse racial and ethnic representation.
Heartwood (2024) is a gentle, woodland-based tarot deck created by Stephanie Burrows and Adam Oehlers of Three Trees Tarot. This deck is a good option for clients who prefer animal-themed decks and for messages to be delivered with softness and warmth.
